United Way's Nonprofit Development Center Offers

Sessions on Leadership and Community Partnerships

On Tuesday, April 23, United Way of Smith County's Nonprofit Development Center will offer two sessions to help community members uncover their unique talents, develop leadership skills, and learn how to build strategic partnerships within their communities. These sessions are open to any organization or business in East Texas.

The morning session, Finding Leaders Within, will allow participants to explore leadership development, uncover skills, reflect on community experiences, and discover techniques to balance personal reflection and community action.

The afternoon session, Identifying Community Assets to Build Strategic Partnerships, will encourage participants to think about leadership assets in their communities and discover ways to marshal the community's resources, talents, and assets for change.

East Texas businesses or organizations wishing to develop leadership skills in their employees or who want to learn more about how they can use their talents and skills to better their communities are encouraged to attend.

Participants can attend either session for $35, or both sessions for $60.  Pre-registration is required.  Both sessions will be held in Tyler but any organization in East Texas is encouraged to attend.  For more information or to register, contact Jo McMahan, 903-581-6376, Extension 213, or email Mrs. McMahan at jmcmahan@uwtyler.org.
