Upshur County Hope House for Pets had a very successful work day last Saturday to prepare the back cattle area of Dr. Cherie Nazzal's Animal Hospital for the intake facility of the no kill shelter. Between thirty and forty people attended the community day with everyone working together.
Eddie Anderson brought his front end loader, piling the overgrown brush for burning. The unbelievable teamwork continued until 5:30 PM resulting in six new runs on each side of the old cattle barn. The next step will be to frame in, set drains, set six posts, and pour the slab for professional looking runs.
Upshur County Hope House would like to extend our most sincere thanks to all the wonderful folks who gave up their Saturday to assist in this valuable endeavor.
Our net event will be March 25, Monday, 6 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Gilmer on Montgomery Street in the fellowship hall. The board of directors will recap the past events and future plans for Hope House and this first quarterly member meeting. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
