GHS counselors will host a meeting for parents of students interested in taking college classes during the 2013-2014 school year on Monday, February 18 at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Courses that are available for dual credit are: US History 1301 (fall), US History 1302 (spring); English 1301 (English IVa), English 1302 (English IVb); Music Appreciation taught by GHS teachers Government 2305 (fall)- online with a GHS teacher in the room Government 2306 (spring) - online
Other courses are available for dual credit with the approval of a GHS Counselor The MOBILE - GO CENTER from UT Tyler will be at Gilmer High School on Monday, February 18 at 6 p.m. to help parents and students with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid aka FAFSA. Please bring your 2012 income tax return.
To speed the process please visit, http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to get your login and pin number that are necessary for completing the application. Any student receiving financial aid must complete the federal application. Completing the FAFSA is FREE, please do not pay for it. The website www.fafsa.com charges for their services, but does the same thing as www.fafsa.ed.gov, which is free. We look forward to seeing you there.
