BIG SANDY—The variety show “The Magic of Music!,” coming to East
Texas Saturday night, Feb. 23, will be fun for the whole family, says
organizer Ellis Stewart of Big Sandy.
This annual concert to benefit the Big Sandy Museum Association’s
building fund will feature a fast-moving mix “with something for
everyone.”
Stewart, along with coproducer Charles Penney, also of Big Sandy, said
the cast will include country, blues, folk, bluegrass by Gilmer’s
Cedar Creek Bluegrass Band, polka by Gladewater’s Rex Ulmer Polka Band
and more. The show will also include Rick Penney, Mary Beth Philp,
John Flynn, Aubrey Jennison, Mike and Hunter Crawford, Neil Crane,
Buzz Payne, Lee Stolley, Luke Short, Dean Koeneke, Jim Stewart and
Shannon Lucas.
Stewart encourages East Texans to mark their calendars.
“Don’t miss this outstanding event, which will have over a dozen indi-
vidual and group acts,” he said. “Treat your family and invite your
friends to a great program of professional-quality entertainment.”
It all happens Saturday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. at the Church of God Big
Sandy’s auditorium on Highway 80 West.
Tickets--in advance or at the door--will be $10 for adults, with chil-
