Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network is promising a fun time for the hundreds expected to attend LIHN’s ninth annual fundraiser Feb. 22 at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, 100 Grand Blvd.
Theme for the 6 p.m. gala is “A Walk on the Wild Side.”
“It is an exciting year for the ninth LIHN gala. It will be a fun evening helping raise funds for children and their families experiencing homelessness,” said Lucy Peacock, an LIHN board member.
The Feb. 22 gala will feature entertainment by the vocal group “Hearts and Surrender” as well as live and silent auctions. Items are being sought for the auctions and should be donated by Feb. 8.
Last year’s event attracted some 600 guests. The LIHN is hoping to raise $65,000 from this year’s gala.
Tickets for the Feb. 22 event are $40 (tax deductible portion is $25) and company and individual sponsorships are available.
Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network, founded in 2004, helps homeless families regain their self-sufficiency. The LIHN provides shelter, meals, child care, transportation, transitional housing and parenting and life skills.
Fourteen local churches also are involved in the LIHN program.
