The Gilmer Fire Department brought one of their fancy trucks to the Pritchett Christmas Parade Saturday entertain the local citizens.

There was good attendance for the pancake breakfast and a visit with Santa, as well as the Parade Saturday morning.

There were big, shiny new fire trucks from East Mountain, Big Sandy and Pritchett, lead by an official Pace Car, the local Highway Patrol, to make sure no driver ran off the road during the parade.

The sirens and lights brought citizens of Pritchett out of their homes to see what was going on. Community support for our local Fire Departments is a great justification for these firemen to “toot their own horn.”

Maybe the most popular part of the Pritchett Christmas was a chance for kids to visit Santa Claus and get a small gift and candy cane.

Santa made sure all the kids, young and old, knew how important it is to be good all year.

Cindy McMillan, president of the Pritchett Community Center, said that the breakfast and parade is a big part of Christmas in Pritchett every year.
