The Gilmer Buckeyes are going to the state semifinals in Class 3A for the fifth time in school history after coming back from a 31-14 deficit to beat the Henderson Lions 41-34 at Lobo Stadium in Longview Friday night before a capacity crowd.

Gilmer (13-1) will now play the Graham Steers (13-1), 40-35 winners over the Gatesville Hornets Friday night in Stephenville. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night, Dec. 14, at Vernon Newsom Stadium in Mansfield. Gilmer will be the visiting team.
