LONGVIEW—LeTourneau University welcomes singer/songwriter Ayiesha Woods to chapel at 10:50 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Avenue.  The public is invited.

As a singer/songwriter, Woods hopes to convey through her music what matters most: Our relationship with God. She states we are bombarded by television commercials, radio singles and music videos competing to tell people what they “need.”

Woods was discovered in Jamaica by former dcTalk member and singer/songwriter, Toby Mac. Her albums “Introducing Ayiesha Woods” and “Love Like This” have a refreshing and energetic Caribbean feel. Her sound is combined with the polished presentation of a veteran musician. In her short span as a recording artist, she has amassed a wealth of accolades, including a GRAMMY nomination and a nod for New Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.

LeTourneau University is an interdenominational Christ-centered university located in Longview, Texas, offering academic majors in aviation, business, communication, criminal justice, education, engineering, health science-nursing, human services, kinesiology, the liberal arts, the sciences and psychology.

LeTourneau University also offers graduate degrees in business administration, counseling, education, engineering, psychology and strategic leadership. In addition to its residential campus in Longview, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs online and at educational centers in Athens, Austin, Baytown, Bedford, Dallas, Harlingen, Houston, and Tyler.
