Formula 1 racing comes to Texas this November with the all new Circuit of The Americas™ complex, the only purpose-built facility in the United States. Located 83 miles from San Antonio’s culture-filled city center and right outside of neighboring Austin, the 2012 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX is expected to draw over 300,000 race enthusiasts from across the globe during its November 16-18, 2012 event. This will be the first event in a 10-year contract Formula 1 has with Circuit of the Americas.

Circuit of The Americas is an easy drive from San Antonio, one of Texas’ top leisure destinations. Formula 1 fans will want to experience the city’s colorful, cultural and vibrant offerings including the world famous River Walk, a garden-bordered pathway along a spring-fed river that connects beautiful hotels with sidewalk cafes, historic districts and quaint shops. A short stroll away is the Alamo, famed around the world as home of a legendary battle for freedom during the Texas Revolution.

San Antonio is a hotbed of multicultural tourism. Western heritage runs rampant with ranches, bbq joints, dance halls and custom hat and boot shops; while Tex-Mex brings the melded identity of Spain, Mexico and Germany to life with family owned eateries, museums that tell of the Latino experience in the Americas and an architecture rich in color and texture.

As the seventh-largest city in the United States, San Antonio offers over 40,000 hotel rooms, top theme parks, over 50 golf courses, spas, resorts and world-class shopping (tax-free for international visitors).
