Daughters of the American Revolution dedicate memorial garden at Tyler’s Texas State Veterans Home

AUSTIN — The Mary Tyler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites the public to join them at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 for a dedication of the Memorial Garden they built at the Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home.

The Memorial Garden will serve as a serene area for residents at the home to walk through and enjoy. The Memorial Garden is filled with plants that attract butterflies, adding to the natural beauty for residents to enjoy. The Memorial Garden will also be open for others to add plants, benches or other things in the future.

Kevin Warren, Deputy Commissioner for Veterans Homes, will accept the gift on behalf of the Veterans Land Board.
