ETBU Reports A Strong Enrollment Increase
MARSHALL, Texas (9/06/12)-East Texas Baptist University announces a continued upward trend as enrollment has increased for the third consecutive year. A total of 1,291 students are enrolled for the fall 2012 semester, which is a 6.3% increase over last year’s enrollment of 1,214.
ETBU experienced significant growth in several enrollment areas. Graduate student enrollment increased 88.5% as compared to last fall. A total of 49 students are enrolled in graduate programs offered in counseling, religion and teacher education. ETBU enrolled 350 freshman students this year, which is a 6.4% increase over last fall’s freshman class. Additionally, this is the third largest freshman class in the 100 year history of the University.
“Great programs, facilities, and scholarships have resulted in enrolling a solid class of new students,” said Vince Blankenship, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. “ETBU is appealing to students because they can enjoy an experience that embraces faith, engages minds, and empowers leaders.”

More and more students are attracted to and understand the value of an ETBU education, and we hope to continue to grow our student enrollment in the years ahead.”
ETBU offers three graduate degrees and over 30 undergraduate majors in the schools of business, Christian studies, education, fine arts, humanities, natural and social sciences and nursing. The student/faculty ratio of 15:1, along with average class size of 20, promotes a close community, integrating faith and learning.
