Mayor Glenn Breazeale will give the welcome, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Lynn Alexander.
Grand Marshal Bobby Bowers will be introduced at 7:20 p.m., with the introduction of the Miss Ore City Fun Festival Queens at 7:30 p.m.
The Barn Dance begins at 8 p.m. featuring Country Band “Messin’ Around.”
At 10 p.m. a Giant Fire Works Show will be presented by Fire Chief Bubba DeBerry and the Ore City Volunteer Fire Department. Afterwards the barn dance will continue until 11:30 p.m.
On Saturday the parade will begin at 9 a.m. in downtown Ore City. Mayor Glen Breazeale will issue the welcome at the bandstand, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Lynn Alexander at 9:40 a.m.,assisted by First Sgt. Paul Hamlton and the Lone Star Confederate Color Guard.
Singing at the Gospel Stage begins at 10 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m.
A car show also begins at 10 a.m.
Games in the pavilion area include a horseshoe tournament at 10 a.m. (call Janell at 903-790-5255 to register); all children’s games begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.
An adult pea shelling contest begins at 1 p.m., and a drawing the the Grand Prize of $500 will be held at 2 p.m. at the bandstand. Tickets for the drawing will be on sale all day.
All-day activities on Saturday will include Tater and the Clowns, Texas Pistalaros Show, carriage rides, and train rides for the kids.
Children’s games will begin at 10 a.m. and end with a watermelon eating contest at 2 p.m.
A flea market will be set up next to the fire station, and food booths of school and youth groups will be open Friday night at 6 p.m. and all day Saturday.
Hourly drawings for door prizes will be held (you must sign up each hour).
First Aid will be available at the fire station.
