LONGVIEW — The public is invited to attend a mini apologetics conference featuring Dr. Norman Geisler on Wednesday, March 28, at 10:50 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Thursday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in the S.E. Belcher Chapel and Performance Center. The conference is part of LeTourneau University’s Spring 2012 chapel theme, “Know What You Believe.” Apologetics is the understanding and defending of core beliefs of the Christian faith.
Geisler’s first session will be a 30-minute chapel presentation Wednesday morning before longer presentations in the evening and on the following morning.
Geisler is a prolific author, veteran professor, speaker, philosopher, apologist, evangelist, and theologian. He has authored or co-authored 70 books in addition to teaching theology and apologetics on college and graduate level for the past 50 years. He is currently a professor of apologetics at Veritas Evangelical Seminary in Murrieta, Calif.
“We are honored to host Dr. Geisler on campus for a second time," said LETU Chaplain Dr. Harold Carl. “Dr. Geisler has been very influential in the formation of my own faith and theology. This event will be a great opportunity for students and the community to deepen and strengthen the foundations of their faith. My students have used several of Dr. Geisler’s text books for Apologetics class. Now they get to meet and interact with the author.”
