Company expanding into Longview

Longview, Texas, April 27 - The Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) announced today that American Home Patient, Inc., one of the nation’s largest home health care providers, will be expanding their Patient Contact Center Operations into Longview, TX. They will occupy an existing building in Longview and will employ up to 220 people when fully operational.

“The economic impact to the Longview area will be significant,” said Steve Metcalf, president of LEDCO, the economic development arm of the City of Longview. “American Home Patient will invest in new equipment and facilities in the City of Longview, Gregg County and the Longview Independent School District. The total payroll, benefits, capital investment and taxes paid will reach $80 million over the next ten years.”

Local governments and LEDCO worked together for several months to attract this company to the area. LEDCO will provide a $1.1 million performance grant over a 7 year period.

The Longview Economic Development Corporation was approved by the voters of Longview in 1991. “According to an economic impact analysis, LEDCO’s investments from 1993-2009 in Longview businesses created 12,642 jobs and had a total impact of $3.62 billion on the general economy of the entire Longview MSA” stated Susan Mazarakes-Gill, LEDCO Executive Director. LEDCO continues to diversify and expand the economy of Longview to provide the highest level of job opportunities and quality of life to Longview residents.
