It’s almost time for Gilmer’s Yulefest.

The annual Santa Claus Parade will be on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 6:45 p.m. Entries are being taken at the Gilmer Area Chamber of Commerce.

Call or go by the chamber, located on the north side of the square in downtown Gilmer, for an entry form to participate.

“Let’s usher in the holiday season and make our parade festive and merry,” said Joan Small, executive director of the chamber.

Other activities include breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The Gingerbread House Contest will be held on Friday, Dec. 3. (Incorrect information was previously supplied that it would be on Dec. 4). Entries can be taken to Gilmer Drug, on the west side of the square, between 3 and 5 p.m. Winning entries will be displayed through Saturday, Dec. 11.

The North Pole Art Contest is for all Upshur County residents.

The judging of decorated homes and businesses will also be on Dec. 4. Lights must be turned on by 6 p.m.

Decorations should be permanent displays for the entire holiday season. Awards will be made.
