Guilty pleas, motions to revoke probation heard in District Court

Nine guilty pleas and five motions to revoke probation were heard recently in 115th District Court in Gilmer. Judge Lauren Parish presided in all the cases.

Keithan Jackson, 24, Gilmer, pleaded guilty to credit or debit card abuse, a state jail felony, and had a motion to revoke probation made against him for a burglary conviction. He received a one-year sentence on each charge, to run concurrently. Barry Wallace was his attorney, while the cases were prosecuted by Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd.

Others entering guilty pleas included:

• Steven Michael Gonsalves, 42, Gilmer, vehicle involved in accident, a third-degree felony. He received three years deferred adjudication probation, and was fined $1,500 and other costs and fees and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service and meet other probation conditions. Byrd prosecuted him, while Ralph Pelaia was his defense attorney.

• Jordan Lee Hubnik, 19, Gilmer, evading arrest detention with vehicle, a state jail felony. He received two years deferred adjudication probation, and was fined $500 and other costs and fees. Assistant District Attorney Robert Cole Jr. prosecuted the case, while Todd Tefteller was defense attorney.

• Floyd Wesley Head, 55, Diana, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony. He received two years in prison. Cole was prosecutor, while Tim Cone was defense attorney.

• Gerald McCoy, 52, Gilmer, possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, with intent to deliver, a second-degree felony. He received five years in prison. Byrd prosecuted the case, while Scott Novy was defense attorney. • Brandon Christopher, 28, Tyler, possession of a controlled substance-cocaine, a state jail felony. He received four years deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine and other fees and costs. Cole was prosecutor, and Edward Spears was defense attorney.

• Patsy Ruth Oney Fuller, 33, Quitman, fraudulent possession of a controlled substance-prescription, a third-degree felony. She received two years in prison, probated for five years, and a $2,000 fine. Her drivers license was also suspended for two years. Charles Van Cleef was defense attorney, while Cole was prosecutor.

• Norman Miles Harrell II, 68, Longview, injury to a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual, a third-degree felony. He received three years deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine, and ordered to have no contact with children or the mentally disabled. Cole was prosecutor, and Scrappy Holmes was defense attorney.

• Erica Machelle McGee, 26, Gilmer, theft between $1,500 and $20,000, a state jail felony. She received three years deferred adjudication probation and ordered to pay $5,627.02 in restitution. Dwight Brannon was defense attorney, and Cole was prosecutor.

Other motions to revoke probation included:

• Charles Douglas McClain, 21, Gilmer, robbery, a second-degree felony. He received six years in prison. Cole was prosecutor, and Novy was defense attorney.

• Etta Laura Wood, 42, Gladewater, burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony. She received six months in the county jail. Cole was prosecutor, and Tim Cone was defense attorney.

• Melanie Rebecca Bell, 36, Gladewater, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a state jail felony. She received six months in the county jail. Dwight Brannon was defense attorney, while Cole was prosecutor.

• Josh Winn Tolle, 20, Kilgore, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony. He received 18 months in a state jail. Cole was prosecutor, and Brannon was defense attorney.
