Volunteers needed to help with Community Playground Project

Volunteers are desperately needed to help with the Community Playground Project May 7 to May 11, said Bridget Fowler, one of the coordinators.

The playground will be constructed at the Yamboree Park, off U.S. 271 N.

“We realize May 11 is Mother’s Day, but we hope people will bring mom and make it a family affair,” said Mrs. Fowler. She said that meals and child care will be provided during the project.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 7-9 will be key days, said Mrs. Fowler.

“Anybody that can help at all is needed,” she said. “You don’t have to be skilled with hand tools to help. There will be jobs for everybody at some level.”

Those who can help in any way are asked to call Robyn Haba, coordinator, at 903-797-2511, or call Mrs. Fowler at the Gilmer Civic Center at 797-8888. If you get an answering machine, leave your name and phone number and she will get back to you.
