The Gilmer Main Street program will present three classic films free to the public on the downtown square this summer, announced Main Street Director Bridget Fowler.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, starring John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Lee Marvin, will be shown on June 26.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original version) starring Gene Wilder will be presented on July 17.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s, starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, will play Aug. 16.

The films will be shown at 8:30 p.m. each time on the vacant lot at the intersection of Buffalo and Simpson Streets (northeast side of the courthouse square).

The movies are billed as family entertainment, and those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
