Union Grove Independent School District received a ranking of superior on the state’s financial accountability system, FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas). Union Grove scored 69 out of a possible 70 perfect score.

The 83rd Legislative session determined that a district’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) rating will now be added to its accountability, which determines how much a school is funded through the state.

A superior rating is the highest award that a district can receive.

“We try to be a steward of the taxpayer dollar while offering our students a quality education. The superior rating is a testament to the job that our central office staff and Board of Trustees do with managing our funding,” said Union Grove Supt. Brian Gray.
