WINONA – Top Southern Gospel music group The Perrys will be appearing at First Baptist Church of Winona. The event will be held on Saturday, January 16 in the church auditorium, beginning at 7:00 pm. The public is invited.

Church Pastor Tony Watson said this event is an unusual opportunity to host one of the most popular southern gospel groups in the country. "The Perrys have been a household name in southern gospel music for 30 years. They have never been more popular than they have been over the past 7 years or so. For us to be able to have the privilege of hosting this event and present it for the people of East Texas is indeed a privilege and something special," said Watson.

With awards such as “Favorite Mixed Quartet”, “Favorite Alto Singer”, “Favorite Young Artist” and many others, gospel music fans all over the country are finding life-changing messages in songs like “If You Knew Him” and “Holy Shore”. From the powerful lead vocals of Joseph Habedank, to the energetic baritone of Troy Peach to the attention-grabbing alto vocals of Libbi Perry Stuffle to the anchoring bass voice and emcee work of Tracy Stuffle, and with the vibrant accompaniment of keyboardist Bryan Elliot, the Perrys are a true gospel music and ministry team.

Over the past year, the church has hosted similar events with nationally-known groups such as The Mark Trammell Trio, the Crist Family and the Melody Boys Quartet. "We are thankful that these opportunities have come our way and it gives us an opportunity to open our doors to the people of East Texas and bring some of the greatest music in the world to them. There will literally be something for all ages. You will laugh one moment and be led to the throne the next. The quality of the music and ministry, as well as the authenticity of the presentation of The Perrys is unique in any form of music and very special," added Watson.

The church is located at 212 Dallas Street in Winona, just one block off of Hwy 155. For more information, call the church office at 903-877-3273 or e-mail Watson at TWCRM@aol.com. There is no charge for the concert but a love offering will be received.
