The 8th Annual Mary H. Herron
Family Kite Flying Festival
The 8th Annual Mary H. Herron Memorial Kite Festival will be held Saturday, April 27th
at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, 1000 NW Haskell Pl., Idabel, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This FREE, family fun day is organized and sponsored by the Idabel Minority Action Council and the Museum of the Red River. These local organizations are working together to feature kite displays, make-your-own kites, free kites, and kite flying demonstrations.
Spectators can participate in traditional kite making activities and learn about kite flying and the history of kites. If you are unable to participate in the morning kite making activity, we will be passing out free kites in the afternoon at the empty field across from Hills Nursing Home along Martin Luther King. Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets. The afternoon session will be cancelled if it rains. For more information, call 580-286-3616.
