Tickets are on sale for a unique holiday season production of Charles Dickens’ world-famous story, “A Christmas Carol,” produced by the Texas Shakespeare Festival.

“A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play” will be presented as a live “on air” radio show—along the lines of “A Prairie Home Companion.”

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Dec.12-14; and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, in Van Cliburn Auditorium on the Kilgore campus.

The show will feature veteran TSF actors Meaghan Sullivan, Matthew Simpson, Jason Richards, Rick Higginbotham and Micah Goodding.

The five actors will give voices to all the characters in the story, standing before microphones and beside a sound effects table where both live and recorded sounds will be produced.

Each of the four performances will be recorded and an edited mix of the live performances will be aired on KZQX-FM radio 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

Each performance will be followed by a Christmas-themed reception in the theatre lobby.

Tickets are $20 for adults ($15 for groups of 25 or more) and $10 for children 12 years old or younger.

For reservations call (903) 983-8119 or purchase tickets online at www.TexasShakespeare.com.
