AUSTIN—The Texas Association of Authors will be hosting the 2013 Texas Spring Book Festival on April 20th.  The event is set to take place at the Hickory Street Café at 10 am on Congress Avenue.  The annual festival highlights independent authors from around Texas.

“Spring is the perfect time for our event,” founder Bourgeois said.  “Our focus is to help those independent Texas authors who are over-looked by the larger publishing firms and other festivals.”

B. Alan Bourgeois, founder of Texas Association of Authors, is a published author of five books in print with a variety of stories from children’s books to adult fiction. Texas Association of Authors is currently hosting a fundraiser that will be benefit the festival.  Currently, you may purchase tickets from TAAuthors with a winning prize of seventeen books from last year’s festival list of award winning authors.

“It is a great feeling to know that TAAuthors is helping aspiring and published authors promote their work.” Bourgeois said.

The event will also have an array of seminars addressing how to properly publish, the impact of social media and marketing in a digital age.
