Ranked the 10th most obese state in the country, Texas is seeking ways to bring healthy back to local communities.  On Saturday, January 12, Jefferson Texas will have its first annual Abundant Life Expo from 11AM- 3 PM.  The expo will feature area medical professionals dealing with obesity and related medical conditions.  Free tests will be available including BMI (body mass index) glucose checks, blood pressure and bone density.  The Expo will be held at the Transportation Building in downtown Jefferson.

A statewide summit on obesity in April of this year carried the theme of “Moving Communities into Action.”  The Jefferson Central Seventh-day Adventist Church is happy to host the Abundant Life Health Expo to serve the local community.  With area professionals providing information on weight loss, hypertension, women’s health and Diabetes, the expo aims to bring awareness of our state’s obesity crisis to the local community.

Additional information and services will also be available at the Abundant Life Health Expo, including a Carter Blood Drive, the Healthy 100 program, essential oils, patient advocacy for Crohn’s Disease and other Irritable Bowel Diseases and information on home health services.

The Jefferson Central Seventh-day Adventist Church is dedicated to showing the love of Christ through service to their local community.
