MT. PLEASANT, November 22, 2013 – The Education Club at Texas A&M University – Texarkana at Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) will be hosting a Jingle Bell 5K Paint Run/Walk on December 7. Race registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Caldwell Park. The Run starts at 9:30 a.m. Jingle Bell Paint Run participants will enjoy festive holiday music, showers of paint powder at each mile point, and celebratory hot chocolate at the finish line.

The Education Club is comprised of Texas A&M-University-Texarkana students who attend classes on the Northeast Texas Community College campus. Club advisors are Dr. Callie Fortenberry and Dr. Michelle Huffman. The Run will be held in conjunction with “Christmas on the Square.” Proceeds from the event will be used for two specific purposes:

1. To provide funds that will assist in enabling the Education Club members the opportunity to attend an upcoming national education conference in Los Angeles.

2. To provide funds for NTCC Communities in School’s Christmas project, The Spirit of Christmas, which provides food and presents to families in need.

The Jingle Bell Run is sponsored in part by Mt. Pleasant Main Street’s Christmas on the Square, Northeast Texas Pediatrics, PLCC, Super 1 Foods and Matkin Chiropractic.

Entry fee payments, along with a completed entry forms, can be dropped off at Mt. Pleasant City Hall or A&M-Texarkana at NTCC (UHS 113). Please make checks payable to “A&M-Texarkana at NTCC Education Club.”
