There’s a tremendous appetite from consumers and entrepreneurs alike for the latest technology, and increasingly, innovation in the tech community is being home grown right here in Texas.
If we’re to fully capitalize on the vast potential of this new tech economy, our state policies should reflect a commitment to encourage additional investment, create new jobs and deliver new technology to the market faster than previously possible.
One way we can do that is to support the work of Sen. Craig Estes (Senate Bill 1330) and Rep. John Otto (House Bill 1133) this Legislative Session. These two state leaders recognize the importance of public policy that’s tech-friendly, and they are visionary in their approach to getting us to where we need to be.
Their work to provide an exemption on the state tax that technology network manufacturers pay will go a long way toward keeping Texas highly competitive. By spurring additional investment in our innovative tech economy, we can see significant job creation and reaffirm Texas’ position as an economic powerhouse.
