CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners, known as NATO, has been going on at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas since Monday, April 15th and concludes Thursday night, April 18th. The event annually draws over 5,000 motion picture theater professionals. It is the largest exhibition trade organization in the world, and represents more than 30,000 movie screens in the US, and additional screens in 57 countries around the world. NATO is made up of the largest cinema chains in the world, as well as hundreds of independent owners.
During the course of the 4-day event each spring in Vegas, numerous Hollywood movie stars make cameo appearances, and quite a few are on hand on the final night for the Big Screen Achievement Awards.
Some of the stars and well known producers and directors who have appeared at this year’s convention include Chris Pine, Zach Pinto, Alice Eve, Directory Michael Bay, John Cho, Producer Bryan Burk, Brad Pitt, Tyresse Gibson, Michelle Rodriquez, Jordana Bradshaw, Sean King, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Armey Hammer, Johnny Depp and Director Oliver Stone.
At Thursday night’s concluding dinner, twelve individuals will be honored for their accomplishments in the last year. The most notable of the group will be Harrison Ford, who is going to be given a Lifetime Achievement Award and Morgan Freeman, who will be presented with the Cinema Icon Award.
