Screams® Halloween Theme Park Opens for 2012 Season

Five Haunted Attractions for One Low Price!

Dallas/Fort Worth, TX – Screams®, the World’s Largest Halloween Theme Park, opens Friday, September 28th for five frightening weekends (Friday and Saturday nights), concluding on Sunday night, Sunday October 28th. Screams® has won numerous awards from Texas Haunts (a haunted attraction reviewing group) such as: Best Haunted Theme Park, Best Halloween Atmosphere, Best Side Attractions, Best Concessions, and Best Value!

The Halloween atmosphere at Screams® is created by it's haunted attractions. Screams® guests may visit all five haunted attractions multiple times for only $24.99. A special discount ticket of $22.99 (regularly $24.99) will be sold online at Screamspark.com and at the gate for the first two weekends only. Discount tickets are on sale for $21.99 at select metroplex Walgreens stores throughout the season.

The attractions include the 3D Pirates of Peril Point, The Arcane Asylum, The Castle of Darkness, Unkel Koy’s Klown Maze and The Ghoulish Graveyard.

The 3D Pirates of Peril Point is inhabited by ghostly pirates and a variety of sea creatures - and it is all in 3D! The Castle of Darkness has been completely revamped for the 2012 season! Guests descend into the dark depths of a medieval castle, including a new level, and venture through twisting corridors encountering classic Halloween monsters and other creatures of the dark. The inmates have not only taken over The Arcane Asylum – but have come to power; striking fear into unsuspecting guests. Unkel Koy’s Klown Maze combines two things that many people fear; clowns and getting lost in an ever shifting maze – more challenging than ever before. The Ghoulish Graveyard provides an up close, personal and terrifying encounter with the newly (and not so newly) dead and buried. All presided over by the Hell Hound, Cerberus.

This season, live bands will appear every evening of Screams on the Main Stage. Shows will be at 9pm and 11pm. Opening weekend, September 28 & September 29, Screams® will host the popular Texas country band Backseat Molly, performing on Friday September 28, and Brandon Jackson, former member of No Justice, performing on Saturday, September 29. The David Bowie tribute band Thin White Dukes will perform on Friday, October 5 and The Enablers, the hottest top 40 cover band will appear on Saturday, October 6. The Main Stage will also host the Dallas rock & blues band Hulagan, along with a variety of tribute bands including The Wonderfuls, Soul Sacrifice, Swan Song, Cursed Diamond, and Black Zappeth.

Additional excitement is provided by The Trail of Terror (available for $5 extra). The Trail of Terror is snowed in this year. The Yeti roams the catacombs and has brought his weather with him. Brave the snow and see an entire attraction turned into a fright filled winter wonderland. Snow falls from above as you make your way through the Yeti’s ice caves and follow the frozen path through caverns and into the lair of the Yeti. Dozens of frozen fiends await you in the blizzard of beasts that is The Trail of Terror- Frozen with Fear.

Screams® Café offers a wide variety of tempting foods including hot, fresh pepperoni pizza, foot-long corn dogs, sizzling fajitas, sausage-on-a-stick, french fries, BBQ sandwiches, chicken tenders, soft-baked pretzels, roasted almonds and pecans, funnel cakes, and kettle popcorn. Great tasting foods on our cool fall nights! An assortment of drinks are offered, including Dr Pepper beverages, hot chocolate and coffee.

The Taboo Tavern offers a great selection of domestic and imported beers, wines and frozen drinks including margaritas and peach bellinis. Screams® Scary-oke where fear meets fine art – is hosted every weekend at the Taboo Tavern. The Full Moon Café has the only full service bar at Screams®. Free private club membership is required to purchase alcoholic beverages. Guests can shop at a number of retail booths including the Spooky Souvenir and Mask Shop. Other fun activities include henna tattoos, wax hands, tarot card readings, Hot Seat Extreme, Veg-ta-bul Justice, games of skill, and rides.
