Earlier today, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships, including this weekend's NCAA Division II Women's Basketball South Central Regional tournament and Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, the ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year, given ongoing decisions by other entities.

In alignment with the NCAA and the Lone Star Conference, all Texas A&M University-Commerce Intercollegiate Athletics events are cancelled through at least March 30, 2020. We will continue to monitor and communicate the status of activities beyond that date in a timely manner.

This decision was made with the top priority being the safety, health and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and all Lion Athletics constituents. Please follow Lion Athletics on our digital and social media platforms, in addition to www.lionathletics.com.
