Lufkin, Texas - Lee Carroll of Lufkin has been elected president of Texas Forestry  Association (TFA) for 2014.  Carroll was inducted into office October 10th at the annual TFA meeting held in Montgomery, and he will lead the 100 year-old organization in its dedication, support and service to the forestry community of Texas.

"Lee has been actively involved in Texas Forestry Association for many years," said Ron Hufford, Executive Director of TFA.  "He has served on our board of directors and various committees, and he has participated in many legislative and outreach events in the past.  Lee is highly respected by his peers, and his knowledge and ability to pursue opportunities will be beneficial as TFA continues to strengthen the forestry community."

As president, Carroll has indicated one of his goals is to recruit new members for the Texas Forestry Association. "TFA has a 100 year history of supporting forestry in Texas" Carroll said. "The organization has a loyal and dedicated membership of nearly 3000. But there are many more individuals that would benefit from membership in the organization."

Carroll is the Southwest Regional Manager for The Campbell Group.  His responsibilities include the management of 1.4 million acres of client owned timberland in Texas and Louisiana.  Carroll began his career with Champion International in 1972 and later worked for International Paper before joining The Campbell Group in 2008.
