Ore City Yule Fest coming up

Ore City Yule Fest and Christmas activities will begin on Friday, Nov. 30, with a flea market and food concessions, sponsored by the Ore City School youth groups.

Many booths will feature Christmas items and much more.

The Yule Fest will continue on Saturday, Dec. 1, with Tony Jordan in charge of games and other activities for the youth.

The Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday in downtown along Main St., featuring the Ore City High School Band, the Ore City Fire Dept., antique cars, Boy Scouts, floats, decorated cars and trucks, Miss Ore City queens, U.S. Army recruiting, bicycles, 4-wheelers and more.

The Ore City Police Dept. will sponsor the antique car show downtown at 1 p.m. Santa will be on hand to visit with the children in the afternoon.

Parade entry forms are available at City Hall until Nov. 26 at 3 p.m., and must be turned in that day for judging.

If you would like to place a Christmas tree in the Christmas Tree Park, call Margaret at City Hall at 903-968-2511.

“Light Up Ore City”— Ore City homes and businesses, will be lit up for the Outdoor Lighting Contest.

You must live inside the city limits to be eligible to participate. Entry forms are available at City Hall. Deadline to enter the contest is Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. at City Hall.
