Many of you may recall the grass and woods fires that destroyed so many homes on Sept. 13, 2011. The residents of Raintree Lakes are among those who wont soon forget.

Jack and Angie Frost, longtime residents, are still struggling to recover, after losing their home, car and all of their belongings in those fires.I spoke with Angie recently and asked her how things were coming along.

She answered by saying “We have come along way but are still unable to finish building our new home and are still staying in a camper.”

It breaks my heart to see them still struggling after all this time. I am one person. I can not make a difference on my own. With your help and the help of the community, I believe that we can get this family out of that little camper and back into a place they can call home.

My goal is to collect $5,000 so that they can complete the rebuild of their house and possibly be able to actually have a Christmas in their home by next year. All it take is a little helping hand and a big heart.

There is an account at Gilmer National Bank under the name Jack and Angie Frost, so that those who feel they can help can so do so. I am not asking for hundreds of dollars, even just $5 can help this family take a step closer towards a completed home. Its a great time of year to give, why not give from the heart?
