“This is a happy, but emotional time as we know our children are prepared to enter elementary school and succeed,” said Astilma Vargas, Niños de Promesa program director. “These children are Tyler’s future, and we are blessed to have been able to play a part in setting the foundation for a lifetime of education and achievement.”
The event will begin with an opening prayer from Pike Wisner, First Baptist Church Tyler pastor, followed by a performance put on by the graduates in honor of their parents. Each graduate will receive a diploma and children’s bible.
Niños de Promesa is a certified preschool dedicated to helping children develop English-language and literacy skills in preparation for a successful start to school and lifelong learning. Ninety-eight percent of program graduates pass the English proficiency test.
Niños de Promesa is part of Buckner Children and Family Services and supported by the Tyler community.
