Holly Lake Ranch Community Theatre began as an idea in June of 2009 during a conversation between two Holly Lake Ranch residents. They were reflecting on the desirability of having an amateur performing arts group around the Ranch. Research was done and it was discovered that, at least going back into the '90s, no similar effort had been made.
An informational meeting was held on September 10th, 2009 at the Holly Lake Fire Hall, during which discussions about the formation of a Theatre group and its first year goals were held. Of the 43 in attendance, 34 immediately filled out “interest survey” sheets indicating their preferences for service once the group came into being.
Within days, some 40 additional persons had made contact indicating their willingness and interest!
A five-member Board of Directors was chosen and committees subsequently formed to divide up the various tasks at hand.
On the evening of November 9th a Kick-Off Soup & Salad supper was held, and some 83 persons were served. Holly Lake Ranch Community Theatre (HLRCT) was on its way!
