Marshall ISD moving ahead with $6.3M renovation of high school
Trustees for the Marshall Independent School District hired an architect to oversee a $6.3 million project to renovate Marshall High School. District officials plan to use about $2.5 million remaining in a 2015 bond issue and $3.8 million from the district's general fund.

The project includes improving the science labs to meet the standards of the Texas Education Agency, updating the girls' locker room to comply with Title IX requirements and ensuring that six restrooms comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The plan also creates a secure entry vestibule at the front of the high school. Construction on the project is expected to begin this summer and be completed in late August. A request for bids for construction of the upgrades should be released soon.
