The 8th annual Lone Star Blood Cancer Conference is quickly approaching!
REGISTER to attend this FREE, educational event designed especially for blood cancer patients,
survivors, families and health care professionals. Leading hematology and oncology specialists
will present information on disease management, clinical trials, developments in
research and survivorship. There will be question-and-answer sessions with all speakers.
The conference will include breakout sessions with disease-specific information
as well as survivorship information. Participants may choose to attend the
session of their choice. This event is open to the general public including
patients, survivors, caregivers and healthcare professionals.
The goal of the Lone Star Blood Cancer Conference is to educate attendees on
disease management, survivorship issues and the progress LLS has made in the field of
blood cancer. At the conclusion of this program participants should be able to understand
and discuss strategies to make informed decisions about their treatment plan; be aware of
strategies to manage disease and treatment-specific side effects; understand transplant side
effects in blood cancer treatments; understand management strategies for ongoing cancer
survivorship issues, including nutrition, financial/insurance and employment challenges;
list how to access local and national resources and understand the impact of new research models.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under provider number CEP 5832 to award 5.5 continuing education contact hours through the California Board of Registered Nursing. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), provider number 1105, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org Approved Continuing Education Program (ACE). Approval Period: 12/2011-12/2014. LLS maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers will receive 5.5 CE clinical lock hour(s). Upon completion of this program and submission of the activity evaluation, a certificate of completion will be issued to you following the program. Partial credit WILL NOT be offered. License number MUST be entered on evaluation form the day of the conference to receive certificate onsite.
