Public Notice

The City of Gilmer will hold a public hearing at Gilmer City Hall, 110 Buffalo, Gilmer, Texas, on Tuesday, September 12, 2016, 5:15 p.m. to discuss the proposed budget for fiscal year 2017-2018. This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $110,410.00 (6.07%), and of that amount. $25,227.00 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year. The City encourages citizens to participate in the discussion of the budget and to make their views known at the public hearing. Citizens unable to attend this meeting may submit their views to Kathy D. Hoover, City Secretary, at the Gilmer City Hall. Handicapped individuals wishing to attend this meeting should contact City Hall at 903-843-2552 to arrange assistance if needed.

Notice of Proposed Salaries

Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code, Section 152.013(b), notice is given that the Upshur County Commissioners Court is considering a $1,200 raise for all county employees, including elected officials. The Court will also consider raising employee, dependent, insurance premium cost by $1,560. In the alternative, the court will consider a $2,400 raise for all county employees, including elected officials. The Court will also consider raising employee, dependent, insurance premium cost by $2,760 annually.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR STOP LOSS CARRIER

The Upshur County Commissioner’s Court is accepting proposals for the Upshur County Employee Health Plan Stop Loss Carrier. Specifications may be obtained in person from Upshur County’s Insurance Broker of record, Miriam Hill, HillTex Insurance Group, 100 E. Jefferson St., Ste. 3, Gilmer, Texas or by calling (903) 843 5061 or email at miriam@hilltexins.com . All proposals must be received, on behalf of the county, by Miriam Hill, at the above listed address, on or before August 18, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. The proposals will be considered in special session of the Upshur County Commissioner’s Court on August 22, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.
