LONGVIEW—LeTourneau University will host Mwangaza Children’s Choir for a special performance during chapel service at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave., in Longview. The event is free and open to the public.

Mwangaza Children's Choir is a ministry outreach program of Africa Renewal Ministries. ARM is a Gaba, Uganda-based organization focused on providing impoverished children with access to education, healthcare, occupational training, and spiritual development. Founded in 1990 as a child sponsorship program under the direction of Pastor Peter Kasirivu, ARM has expanded across the country. It has partnered with local and international relief organizations and churches to bring schools, Bible institutes, and medical facilities to over 8,200 children in 24 locations.

The choir, which began touring in 2004, allows children to raise awareness and resources for ARM with traditional Ugandan song and dance. The performances also further Mwangaza’s goal to share the message of the Christian faith through testimony.
