LONGVIEW— LeTourneau University students, led by senior marketing major Natalie Schuller of Houston, Texas, are inviting the public to join university students, faculty and staff to join them in 30 minutes of prayer in the second annual “Pray the Loop” event on campus at 4 p.m. Friday, April 12.

The event is designed to unite people in prayer around the university’s campus loop.  At last year’s inaugural event, nearly 500 people gathered to pray.  Schuller said she hopes to double that number at this year’s event, which she hopes will grow as an annual tradition.

“Pray the Loop is a specified time to stand together for 30 minutes to pray for God’s direction, protection and will for LeTourneau University,” Schuller said.  “We want to be united as one heart for His glory and give our worries, stresses, and fears to Jesus as we pray in faith to be a campus that seeks first His kingdom and His righteousness. Whether you are a student, faculty, staff, alumni, trustee, parent, donor and any anyone else who has been touched at all by this wonderful university, we want to see you there!”

Prayer sheets will be available to guide those participating in the Pray the Loop event, Schuller said.

LETU President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford applauds the student’s initiative.

“This Pray the Loop event is a great example of how our students seek God’s direction for themselves and for their university,” Lunsford said.  “We hope community members who support the university will feel welcome to come participate with us. It is especially gratifying that this event will focus on our founder's life verse during our homecoming weekend when so many will be back on campus.”  LETU’s homecoming weekend is April 11-13.
