The Kilgore College Ranger football team will be heading to a bowl game in December, and the information about the game will be released at a press conference on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The event is set for 1 p.m. in KC’s Devall Room in the Devall Student Center on the Kilgore Campus.

Athletic Director Jimmy Rieves has been in contact with several representatives from NJCAA bowls, and is excited for the 8-2 Rangers to get invited to post-playoff play.

“We’ll definitely have a bowl game set by Tuesday,” Rieves said. “It was a great season for head coach J.J. Eckert and the Rangers.  It is an honor that they will get to play in a bowl as a reward for their hard work and outstanding efforts on and off the field.”

KC has played in 18 bowl games in school history.

This will be the first bowl invitation since 2007 when the Rangers played Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in the Heart of Texas Bowl in Copperas Cove.

KC is 10-7-1 in bowl games, and this will be the fifth time since 2001 that the Rangers will play in a bowl game.
