"Jesse Lynch is a brilliant and genre-defying pianist."
– Taylor Mesple, Producer, Old Port Records
Jazz 101 was created by New York jazz artist Jesse Lynch. Pianist, composer, arranger and educator, Lynch has applied his wide-ranging skills to a new multimedia concert production chronicling the history of jazz. Repertoire spans New Orleans classics through Lynch’s own compositions. Lynch is accompanied by fellow New York jazz aces Joe Michaels (bass) and Matt Smallcomb (drums). Each member has a formidable bio typical of the new wave of jazz instrumentalists - classical training with academic and professional connections to traditional jazz, funk, pop and world music. Lynch has toured nationally with Daniel Rodriguez and “The American Tenors.” The Trio’s first album, “Intuition,” was released in 2009.
Established in 1933, Tyler Civic Music became affiliated with Community Concerts in 1955 to form Tyler Community Concert Association. Motivated by the mission “to bring artists and audiences together,” this all-volunteer nonprofit organization is committed to enriching the cultural life of Tyler through live performances. Thanks to the generosity of Patrons and Sponsors, these concerts are offered at affordable, family-friendly prices.
