IBHS Provides Guidance on Recovering and Rebuilding After Hail and Thunderstorms
The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) has information about recovering and rebuilding in the wake of the severe hail and thunderstorms that struck Texas early this morning.
Hail can occur in any strong thunderstorm, which means hail is a threat everywhere. When it hits, it can shred roof coverings and lead to water damage to your ceilings, walls, floors, appliances and personal possessions.
On February 20th, IBHS conducted the first-ever, full-scale indoor hailstorm at the world-class IBHS Research Center in South Carolina. IBHS has produced an assortment of hail-related information for media use, including video and photos.
To access and download any of the assets listed above please visit the IBHS Hailstorm Demonstration Resources page: http://www.disastersafety.org/research-center/hail-demo/.
IBHS also has building science experts available to speak with the media. To arrange an interview with an IBHS building science expert, please call Joseph King at (813) 675-1045 / (813) 442-2845 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
