On Saturday, February 15th, Upshur County Hope House for Pets will host a casino night fundraiser, called Have A Heart.

Upshur County Hope House for Pets is a 501(c)3 non- profit corporation dedicated to the reduction of homeless and abused pets in the community. As a no-kill facility, euthanasia is never used as a means of population control.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the purchase of a Mobile Adoption Unit. This will allow the facility to showcase adoptable animals at local retail stores and other locations.

Tickets for Have A Heart are $50 each and include dinner, drinks, and gaming. The Backwoods Bombshell Roller Derby girls will serve Beer, wine, and margaritas.

The event will be held at Flyin' Feathers Ranch on Highway 300 in Gilmer, location donated by Alicia Nolte.  Doors open at 5, followed by a seated dinner from 5:30 to 7:00. After dinner, gaming tables, provided by the Longview Knights of Columbus, will open and the evening will end at 10:00 pm with a Chinese auction.

Chinese auction items will include Duck Dynasty merchandise, training DVD’s from Caesar the Dog Whisperer, premium hay bale, expensive sunglasses, wakeboard, six months of fitness, multiple pieces of expensive jewelry, a year’s worth of grooming, and much more! Everyone who attends has a chance to win, whether or not they play the games.
