Darren Richardson and his sister Melanie Richardson will be guest musicians at the 10 a.m. service at First United Methodist Church of Gilmer this coming Sunday, July 28.

Darren, an administrator and former choir director for the Gladewater Independent School District, is no stranger to First United Methodist Church.

As a long-time colleague and friend of Lora Robison, Director of Music Ministries at FUMC, Darren has been guest soloist and guest choir member on many occasions.

This time, Darren brings his talented sister, Melanie Richardson, to perform with him.

Melanie, a real estate office administrator in Dallas, enjoys a legacy of music-making in Gladewater and Tyler with her brother, Darren.

The brother-sister team will be singing four numbers for the service on July 28.

They will be opening the service with a traditional spiritual, I Go to the Rock, sung as a duet and accompanied by Darren on the piano. Melanie will sing the beautiful Alabaster Box by Sjostran and the duo will sing The Prayer by Foster as the offertory.

A solo by Darren offered before the sermon by Rev.Richard Laster will be Mallotte’s The Lord’s Prayer, accompanied by church accompanist Bill Marshall.

The public is invited to attend.
