Twentieth Century Club members met for their annual business meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the home of Mary Ann Patterson.

Special guest Rick Albritton, superintendent of Gilmer ISD, was introduced by President Jean Hamil.

Albritton made a presentation about the Gilmer ISD’s upcoming bond issue election to be held on Nov. 5. He explained the three propositions that would appear on the ballot and what the funds would be used for, if approved by voters.

Following his program, members responded to the roll call by stating the number of years they had been members of the club. Responses ranged from less than one year to over 50 years.

A business meeting followed, including officer and committee reports.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mrs. Patterson served a luncheon plate featuring 3-cheese ham quiche, apricot Jello salad, lemon bars, pickles, olives, crackers and seasonal candies.

Members present, in addition to those mentioned above, included Cal Arnold, Annette Breazeale, Mikie Clark, Sandy Dean, Betty Finney, Bridget Fowler, Marynell Henry, Annette Herrmann, Rita Lewis, Cindy Murry, Betty Orms, Rolinda Shipp, Bettye Lou Smith, Melinda Smith, Abby Stewart and Raye White.
