THE GILMER FFA POULTRY TEAM competed in two contests the weekend of March 23. They won third at Texas A&M University, the Dr. Krueger Memorial Contest, against teams from across the state. Haygan Thomas was 5th high individual. The previous day, the team participated in the Navarro County contest, and placed first, with Haygan Thomas as first high individual; Garrett Parish, second high individual; and Juan Lopez, fourth high individual. They will compete in the Area and FFA Career Development event at Texas A&M-Commence in a few weeks. Team members, from left, are Ashlyn Hill, Juan Lopez, Garrett Parish, Haygan Thomas and Clarissa Lopez.
It is interested in displaying flags representing states, countries, or organizations.
Please be sure your flag is in good condition and you can give an account of its history or significance.
It does not need flags from veterans’ funerals since there is already one on display, unless it has 49 stars or less.
Please bring your flags to the museum during regular hours, Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., or call 903-843-5483.
The exhibit will run from May through September.
