Sophomore running back Kris Boyd ran all over the Chapel Hill Bulldogs, especially in the second half, to lead the Gilmer Buckeyes to their second straight win in District 16-3A.
Boyd scored five touchdowns and amassed 293 yards rushing on 17 carries. His longest TD runs were 76, 62 and 58 yards.
The other two TD runs for Gilmer were by Josh Walker and Tanner Barr.
The game was tied 14-14 at the half and Chapel Hill led 28-21 late in the third quarter before Gilmer hit with a 29-point unanswered deluge on the scoreboard.
The next District of Doom challenge for the Buckeyes will come at Lobo Stadium in Longview on Saturday night, Oct. 13, against the Henderson Lions.
