Gilmer (10-0, 5-0) won its ninth consecutive undefeated district championship with the win at home. The Buckeyes are champs of District 17-3A and will enter the UIL Class 3A Division I playoffs.

Gilmer will face the Jasper Bulldogs (8-2, 4-1) of District 18-3A at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler. The Buckeyes will be the home team.

Jasper is the Division I representative of 18-3A and finished second in that district to Carthage (10-0; 5-0).

Gilmer beat Jasper, 42-14, at Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches in the 2009 season opener on August 28.

Chapel Hill defeated Gladewater, 34-28, to achieve a 3-way tie for third place in District 17-3A among those two schools and Spring Hill, a 56-7 winner over Bullard. However, the Bulldogs needed to have won by 7 to make the playoffs and go as the Division I rep. Instead, they miss the playoffs and Gladewater goes as the second seed in Division II from District 17-3A. Tatum is first seed.

Carthage will play Gladewater and Tatum will play Center in the Division II bi-district games involving 17-3A and 18-3A.
