Rudy Ramos in Geronimo, Life on the Reservation

April 26th and 27th

We were presented with a rare opportunity last year…the chance to welcome a veteran actor to our Winnsboro stage for a unique one-man show.  For two nights only, April 26th and 27th, Rudy Ramos (cousin of board member Connie Davis) will portray the Apache leader Geronimo and share that story in Geronimo, Life on the Reservation.

In this presentation, Geronimo cleverly evolves from a surrendered Indian leader into a celebrity and entrepreneur. Keenly aware of how to work the political system, he joins the same church that Teddy Roosevelt belongs to and rides in his Inaugural Parade. Although he isn’t successful in getting everything he wants, he certainly succeeds in making the best of his situation.

Geronimo was never beaten. He simply adapted to his present circumstances.

Ramos has extensive acting credits, but you may best recognize him as "Wind," the half-Pawnee ranch hand from The High Chaparral.

Ramos will also performing this show in Tucson, Albuquerque, and Tombstone this spring, so we're looking to give him a huge East Texas welcome here in Winnsboro!  More info on tickets soon, but you might want to mark your calendars now!

The performances are next Saturday evening, April 26th at 7 pm and Sunday afternoon, April 27th, at 2 pm. Tickets are available at the Winnsboro Emporium.

This would also be a great time to see our new exhibit, A Celebration of American Indian Culture, which features art and artifacts from local artists and collectors.
