After having to postpone opening day due to weather, the Kilgore College Softball Team will now play its first home game Monday, Feb. 4.

Pre-game festivities, beginning around 12:30 p.m., will include speakers and a special presentation to KC by Mike Clements, owner of Energy Weldfab.

The first pitch will be thrown by KC Board of Trustees President Will Roberson.

The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. versus North Central Texas College.  Admission is free.

The Rangers are coached by Leslie Messina, who previously served as Texarkana College’s head softball coach the last eight years.

KC will take the place of Texarkana College in the Region XIV East Zone because Texarkana College is dropping all intercollegiate athletic programs after this school year.

At Texarkana College, Messina’s teams won five conference championships, two regional championships and had the school’s first two appearances at the NJCAA National Tournament.
